Liz McConnachie

Liz comes with a wealth of experience in Senior Leadership in Scotland’s Further Education Sector, she spent over 15 years as an Associate Assessor with Education Scotland/HMIe undertaking Quality Reviews of Scotland’s Colleges.  Liz has also undertaken extensive qualifications development and Principal Assessor work for both SQA and NQA in UAE.   

She has also spent the last number of years in the Middle East, having set up one of the First Female Technical Colleges in Saudi Arabia whilst working alongside its government. In Abu Dhabi, UAE, Senior Leadership in Vocational Technical Colleges including specialist government projects to support the development of post-16 Special Education Vocational training and SEN staff skills development, benefiting hundreds of students. 

As the new Head of Corseford College, Liz is looking forward to driving forward the agenda for FE provision for complex needs students, ensuring Corseford College is a centre of excellence providing high-quality individualised learning, independent life skills and student-centred support.
