A Barrel of Donations

Inspired by her late father, Jan has made a generous donation to Capability Scotland through a partnership with Mercure Perth Hotel

During a recent visit to the Mercure, Jan Curle noticed a familiar sight: a Macallan whisky barrel that had been modelled on her late father, Sandy Curle, a master distiller at The Macallan distillery in Craigellachie. This unique item, one of only 500 ever produced, had recently been moved from storage to one of the hotel’s conference rooms.

Moved by the story behind the barrel, Jan approached the hotel to inquire about purchasing it. Touched by her personal connection to the piece, the Mercure offered to gift it to her instead. Wanting to express her gratitude, Jan looked into the charities supported by the Mercure. Upon learning about their partnership with Capability Scotland, she chose to make a generous donation to our charity.

Capability Scotland is incredibly grateful for Jan’s kindness and for the ongoing support and partnership of Mercure Perth.
