Karen Achieves a Dream

Sometimes, opportunities to achieve our dreams just fall into place, and that's exactly what happened for Karen, one of the amazing people we support.

Karen has been practising Tai Chi for years as part of her recovery from an acquired brain injury, and lately, she's had two major goals: to teach others the benefits of Tai Chi, and to take a trip away from home. In September, at our #OneCapability Staff Conference, Karen was given the chance to take a huge step forward in both these areas.

Leaving Dumfries & Galloway for the first time in a while, Karen delivered a fantastic Tai Chi workshop to nearly 300 delegates. She helped them relax and set a calm tone for a day of learning and connection. What an incredible opportunity for everyone to experience Tai Chi from someone with such dedication and experience!

Though Karen was a little nervous before stepping onto the stage, her confidence shone through, and the participants loved being part of her workshop.

After the conference wrapped up, Karen celebrated in her own special way—by rocking out to some ABBA on the karaoke!
