Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Capability Scotland (Limited by guarantee, registered in Scotland, number SC036524. Registered Scottish Charity, number SC011330, regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)) is the promoter of this December 2022 competition, whose registered office is 24 St John's Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6NZ.
  2. Eligibility: This prize promotion is open to UK residents (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) aged 18 years or over, excluding employees of Capability Scotland, associated agents or anyone professionally connected with the prize promotion.
  3. There is no entry fee. No proof of purchase is required as your purchase data is stored by Capability Scotland in line with GPDR.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant indicates their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. Entry to the competition is noted on Facebook as liking/following our page, and sharing our competition post. Entry on Instagram is noted by following our account and sharing our story with a tag of @capabilityscotland.
  6. Entries will be considered between 15:00 on Friday 25 October 2024 (the starting date) and 23:59 on Sunday 10 November 2024. After this date and time, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  7. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  8. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  9. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows (you need only do one of these things):

    1. follow/like our Facebook page and share our competition post to your timeline. Your privacy settings must allow us to see that you have shared this to be included in the prize draw. 

    2. follow our Instagram account and share our story relating to the competition, tagging us in your share.

  10. Capability Scotland reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  11. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  12. The prize is as follows: one (1) batch of four (4) tickets to the Starry Nights - Magical Illuminated Christmas Experience event at Beecraigs Country Park.
  13. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  14. The winner will be chosen at random by a member of Capability Scotland's supported people, from all entries received and verified by us. In the event a service user from Capability Scotland is unavailable, a member of Capability Scotland's staff will select a winner.
  15. The winner will be notified by email and/or direct message on social media and/or letter within five (5) working days after the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within seven (7) days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  16. The promoter will notify the winner when the prize is dispatched. The prize will be sent second class by post, and will be untracked. The prize may be collected in person.
  17. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Scottish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
