Kickstart Your Career in Social Care with Capability Scotland

Capability Scotland is delighted to launch a brand-new, free six-week Get into Social Care programme in conjunction with DG Works. The programme is designed to provide hands-on experience, expert training, and real-world insights into the social care sector. Launching in February 2025, this fully funded programme covers everything from essential care skills to practical work experience in a real care setting. This course is currently open to residents in Dumfries & Galloway looking for a fresh start, a new challenge, or an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives through employability skills for social care.

Social care is a rewarding and fulfilling career, offering the chance to support people to live independent, meaningful lives. However, getting started can feel daunting, especially without prior experience. That’s where this programme comes in—offering structured training, mentorship, and practical skills to help you take your first step with confidence.

Who Can Apply?

This programme is open to anyone interested in starting a career in social care who lives in Dumfries & Galloway. You don’t need prior experience—just a passion for helping others and a willingness to learn. If you’re looking for a career that’s rewarding, varied, and people-focused, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
